Yuni Xia received her PhD in Computer Science from Purdue University. She is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Indiana University Indianapolis. She has over 17 years of teaching experience and received Indiana University Trustees Teaching Award twice. She is also a Digital Faculty Fellow at Indiana University – Indianapolis. She have published more than 60 papers and received the IBM Data Analysis Innovation Award and Real-time Innovation Award. She also has rich research experience in database, data mining and machine learning/AI. She is passionate about teaching children (and adults) Computer Science.

Dr. Tu received his PhD in Computer Science from Purdue University in 2007. He is a recipient of NSF Career Award. His current research efforts address large-scale data management and parallel and distributed computing. He has also worked on data stream management systems, and application of control theory in tuning database system performance, and peer-to-peer networks.

History
Greetings, I am Yuni Xia, the founder of EasyFunCoding. As a mother of two, my passion has always been nurturing children’s education in mathematics, science, and technology. Through my experience, I’ve observed that collaborative learning environments significantly enhance children’s educational experiences and enjoyment.
In the summer of 2018, I had my first summer camp in my home. Intended for my children and a few of their friends, the camp attracted 16 participants. The curriculum encompassed diverse aspects, including game and animation creation using Javascript, alongside engaging group activities like constructing solar baking ovens for s’mores. The success of this venture spurred an overwhelming demand.
Consequently, we have expanded our offerings to cater to the growing interest. Our courses now span Scratch, Javascript, Python, Java, Robotics, C++, AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles, Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, ACSL (American Computer Science League) Contest Training, Competitive Programming, and Computing Olympiad Training, tailored for various age groups. Our summer camps have evolved significantly, incorporating game design and development in platforms such as Roblox and Unity 3D, mobile app development, robotics, 3D modeling, and animation.
Moreover, we have collaborated with esteemed art studios, universities’ public speaking and debate faculties, and music instructors to ensure a comprehensive educational experience. Additionally, we have established partnerships with elementary schools, extending after-school programs and summer camps to benefit a wider audience.
