Teach students robotics and smart devices through fun, hands-on projects.
Virtual Robotics and Smart Devices class teaches students how coding is used in robotics and smart devices through fun, hands-on projects. Students will get a broader understanding of how to utilize robotics to solve problems.
Students will learn the basics of VEX Code and programming in 3-D environment while creating a virtual robot. Students will learn how to navigate robots through virtual worlds and complete exciting maze challenges! VEXcode VR helps students code a virtual robot using the drag and drop programming language.
The course also covers Micro:Bit coding, which is the perfect fit if your child is interest in electronics or if they may want to build robots. This little device packs very powerful capabilities: LED lights, speakers, a temperature sensor, a microphone, and even an accelerometer. Coding is done in a simulator that works just like the physical Micro:Bit.
We also introduce students step by step to circuits and robot micro-controllers. This class uses a micro-controller Arduino simulator and does not require a physical device. If a student prefers, an Arduino starter kits can be purchased online. The course is designed to lead students through various aspects of both electronics/circuits/sensors/motors and programming the micro-controller.
